This is a phenomenal experience, not just speaking of the meal. The environment is lively, the service is fast and friendly, the desserts are out on display, and it just feels like a classic diner experience. The food came out hot and fresh. Even the complementary bread came out with steam coming off it. And the cake!! The piece was ginormous and delicious. Just come make the trip!
I was in Huntsville on a business trip and was able to stop here a few times for breakfast. The food was great, the service was fast and friendly and the portion size was generous. I also love that they are open at 6am which really helped me get an early breakfast. If I come back to Huntsville I will stop by again for sure.
City diner Incredible variety, great quality & quantity. Greek? Yes. Italian? Yes. Classic burgers & shakes? Yes. Fried chicken ? Yes. Fried fish ? Yes. Cakes? Huge giant luxury cakes that are awesome? Yes!!!! This is a diner that reminds me of the glory of all the northerners diners with all the grace & charm of the international relaxed rocket city 😎 vibe. Southern classy & sassy & fun with beautiful booths & great music. This a great place to cater a holiday, to book a party in the family dining room, or have a business lunch with fellow staff. Wonderful for; team event's, baby showers, bridal showers, graduations, family reunions. This place is an well known in the area but undiscovered as a next big stylish southern diner classic. Should be on a top ten to visit in Alabama.
Love the food and service here. We have eaten at the one in Chattanooga Tn and Huntsville AL. The service and food were great resturants were clean has to be for me. Loved the avocado toast my son had a Greek dish and said it was delicious not sure of the name of the dish. Great food and great service Thank you to both locations.
I have been coming to this location for over a decade. It deserves the 4k reviews with the stars it has. I have never been disappointed by it. Though I don't really go for the food as much as I do the desserts. The best kept secret of this place is not their amazing food and expansive menu— it's the cake. Every time you go in there are two whole display cases of overflowing amazing cakes. I have not had a single bad one there and I typically get a different thing every time I go. I have literally been coming here since 2015 And it remains a fond memory and place for me to go when I miss my late husband. If you ever escape the hospital across the street I recommend this being a place to go on the way out. Get yourself some will earned cake. The chocolate suicide is literally to die for.
My food was a bit salty on certain dishes like the potatoes for my taste, but that might just be me. It was incredibly abundant. I adored their spanokapita. The rice in the dolmades was a little firm for my preferences, but despite my preferences, I objectively understand that the food is AMAZING! I spent nearly $100 on everything I ordered, but that's basically my entire grocery shopping for the week, and I now have nummy Greek food and a slice of the best carrot cake to munch on for a whole week. My server was amazing. The unsweetened tea was over steeped and upset my stomach, but I didn't tell the staff, so that's not on them. The tea did keep me from eating more while I'm the restaurant, but I tasted my things on the plate and loved them. I even got a slice of cake to go, and I keep going to the kitchen to take a bite every so often. I'm on a glp1. I get sick after taking more than 2 bites of food per 30m to 1hr. I'm going to the fridge like once every couple hours to take a bite of this cake. Get their cake!
Stopped here for lunch today....and was amazed at the variety on their menu...Burgers, Sandwiches, Italian food, Greek food, Steak, Seafood, Breakfast ALL DAY, and some of the most delicious looking desserts you've ever seen! We received a large complimentary bread loaf that was divine.....and it came with butter and a house made feta spread that was literally addictive. I tried the Carbonara and my hubby had a meat-lover's omelette with home fries. Both were fresh and hot and came out quickly. Portion sizes were very generous, and everythign tasted really good. My meal came with a nice salad that was crisp and fresh as well. Our server, Theresa was a gem.....very friendly and she took great care of us. They have two HUGE dessert cases, but we were so full that we did not get dessert this time. We will definitely go back again soon to try dessert though....Their pies and cakes look like somethign in a professional bakery. Another great spot to check out in Huntsville!
I have never had a bad experience at this diner! You literally can’t go wrong with any of the food, but I highly recommend the spanakopita meal! If anything save room for dessert because the cakes are mouthwateringly delicious!
It has come to my attention that this establishment offers exceptional service, a fact I was previously unaware of. We have clearly overlooked a valuable opportunity. I highly recommend a visit to this cafe for anyone in the vicinity. My compliments to the entire team for their outstanding performance.
